A Roman Polanski Film starring Adrien Brody |
This movie blew my mind away. It's the true story of a wonderful pianist, Wladyslav Szpilman who survived the Holocaust by hiding in and around the ghetto. The directing in this movie is phenominal and Adrien Brody (Summer of Sam, Liberty Heights) gives hands down the best performance I have ever seen an actor give on screen. This movie makes you see the things you take for granted and reduces the problems in your life to a little kiss on the cheek. I highly recommend this movie, if I had any control over it there would be no doubt in my mind that Adrien Brody and Roman Polanski would sweep the Oscars.
Check out the Soundtrack it has wonderful piano music on it!
Let me just begin by saying that Oliver Stone is a genius. This is a fantastically well made movie about the consiparcy of the assassination of JFK. For further reading check out Jim Garrison's book On the Trail of Assassins.
Tim Robbins is probably one of the best actors and directors out there. He can be funny and he can be serious, and be sucessful at both. This movie is one of the best though, Robbins plays a man who is sent to jail for a murder he didn't commit. I'm sure most of you have seen it if not check out TNT they usually play it once a week or so.
